Our Horses

Amigo is our friend. Liam and Amigo are best buddies. He has shown Amigo in western riding classes, pleasure driving, team driving, and even tandem bareback.

"Flo" is sweet with a playful personality, which is why she works so well with Ella. Ella has ridden English with Flo, competed in pleasure and team driving, and even jumped her.

"Willie" is a young horse with great potential. He rides both Western and English on top of driving. He won 2018 Reserve Champion Green Horse at the 2018 Sport National Haflinger Show.

SOLD- "Mimi" is a really lovely young mare with a world class pedigree. She is lovable and has a nice mind. Her riding is coming along nicely. She has 60 days of driving training. Her mother is Maserata TOF, one of the most respected and well-known brood mares in the breed. Her father is Nordtirol, who has fathered many of the most athletic horses in Austria.

Rollie is one of the members of our go-to driving team along with his brother Ranger. These boys are the biggest horses on our farm and they're great workers.

Ranger is one of the members of our go-to driving team along with his brother Rollie. These boys are the biggest horses on our farm and they're great workers.

Cassie is the horse that started Shady Grove Haflingers and she is the foundation of our breeding program. She has an excellent pedigree and all of her foals are sweet, lovable, and eager to learn.

SOLD- Cherry is a very stylish, very sensible mare out of the stallion Windstar Van de Ooste. She drives very nicely. Her riding skills are coming along quickly, as you can see. She is 5 years old and about 14.2 hands. She is gorgeous, she is red, perfect name for a beautiful red mare that turns heads everywhere she goes.

$12,500- "Betsy" is a really powerful, forward mare with an effortless canter that makes her a tremendous dressage prospect. You can see that she is still green, but she is really fun to ride. You can feel the power. As a three year old, she is nearly a dead ringer for her mother, Bet She Rox PA. When her mother was a three year old she was a Reserve National Champion (AHR sport horse) and won the National Produce of Dam with famous full sister Bonita Rox PA. Betsy is from the last crop of our stallion Walzing River TOF.

Retired Stallions

River was our herd sire for many years. He has a world-class pedigree. His offspring were known for having a really great canter. They are also very stylish. He remains a foundation of our herd.

Nostalgic is known for his striking beauty. His offspring generally have his looks with long manes and blond chestnut coats. They are very curious about everything and have very calm minds. They have puppy-dog personalities. Nostalgic has the NN genotype for squamous cell carcinoma. We currently plan to maintain one of his offspring in our breeding program.

Willie was the heir to replace his father as our herd sire. He is out of our top mare Cassie and Walzing River. He was partly chosen for this because of his incredibly calm personality. We have two excellent offspring out of Willie, however he was retired from breeding when he learned he had the RR genotype for squamous cell carcinoma. Willie currently remains on our farm as a competitive gelding. We were proud to see him capture Reserve Champion Green Horse at the 2018 Sport National Haflinger Show.
